Just a thought with lifter noise.

Post by payaya »

I pulled my oil pan the other week, the pickup was half covered in sludge and the oil pan was full of crap. Cleaned it all up and my lifters don't tick during start up anymore! I get some ticking when warm but from loud as sh*t ticking during startup to almost nothing is pretty good!

New lifters ordered anyway but guess the sh*t in the pan did cause from issues!

Yeah, dirty oil does cause them to become restricted.

The hydraulic tappets on Margarets TF sounded like a tractor but a flush with Wynns hydraulic lifter cleaner and an oil change and all was good again.

I was using a flush and there was still sh*t a the pickup. It wasn't cured the problem but the loud tick I use to get during cold starts has reduced heaps.
