Btw i went with my aunt and she said it is clean car without any damage on it.
It had 2 big bubbles with diameter of 1cm near sunroof...
hmmm. Take Taz with you for a second look but I'd probably stay away from this one.

Bubbles indicate roof rust which can be costly and a pain in the arse to fix.
How costly?

Taz wrote:there is no "transfer fees" or anything to swap it interstate. All you have to do is deregister the current registration (which you will be sent a cheque for the remainding rego on it anyway) and then re-register it which will be what you pay for rego when it is due. you will also have to pay stamp duty which i think is like 3.5% in QLD, so like 150 dollars which covers the cost of clerical fees n new plates etc which you have to pay regardless. will only cost you around 160ish for stamp duty, 430ish for 6 months rego.
its not a hard process, just annoying!
And yes, def's go for the djjones' one - a LOT better than the one we looked at!
I am a bit quite restless about this thingy.
i have been trying to look up infos on the internet
1st thing is I couldnt find anything about refund of CTP insurance all it mentions is rego refundation with a 25 dollars fee since they pay what car weighs for its only 313 dollars per year so i will be getting 156 dollars back. with the application fee it will be only like 130 dollars
So lets calculate our re renewal
first of all duty is a bit unclear as it says " Dutiable value Up to contents Back to quote form Dutiable value is required to calculate duty for a new registration. The dutiable value is the greatest of the list price, purchase price or market value of the vehicle."
Since everyone can find an ad that this car is sold with the price of 10k dollars. still i will assume that they accept it as 5.5k
so for 6 months
Total fee ($) 636.05 minus 130 dollars around 500 bucks
souns like everything is fine but like i said i am more scared of any other hidden costs e.g duty will be maybe the import price of the car
i also wonder the safey cert in qld, does anyone know how much tthat one cost

its going to be around 800 for both cars to register (and stamp duty) regardless, so you cant really count that on top of the cars to weigh up.
Its also going to be about the same for both cars roofs to be fixed - probably if anything dj's will be less, the other one was pretty bad! which means in the end you cant count them against each other, they are going to be the same, the only difference is that dj's one is:
a) at least 700 cheaper (by the sounds off what this guy was saying if he wasn't bullshitting which im pretty sure he was he might jack the price up on you if you want to buy it before all
of these other alleged customers hes got begging to buy the car)
b) i can guarantee that dj's car is going to in much better condition and looked after and for the most part, the history of the car is known. He himself did the engine swap so he knows
its done the km's. This other car doesn't look like it has only 80k on its clock, the body says otherwise and it has just been recently imported so you never know, while slim i guess the
odds are still there.
overall i think its a much safer and smarter move to pick up dj's car. YES its going to take a few more days to get the car back up here and sussed out and a bit more effort but you ain't going to get dicked around (more i think about this other car and the owner the more i feel like something just ain't right ya know) going to probably save a lot more from the initial cost and then not having to repair the front bumper, sunroof itself, and anything else that might be a dodgy job, just don't know sometimes till its too late, and this guy seems like the one to pull a dodgy if there's going to be one. The car i'm sure also has a history in the club im not sure how long but at least you have some reassurance i guess.
I'm sure most members will back me when i recommend stick to the club and take a better look at dj's. If i had of looked and seen his for sale i wouldn't of bothered taking a look at this other GR  - was just curious from all the hooplah.
In saying all this i'm not your mother, this is only my opinion and should be treated as such :D If you feel you want to take this GR, by all means. But know we are always here to help you make an informed decision and help ya along the way.
Good luck with a purchase whichever you decide, and we will see you at the 2012 bonfire in your hot new ride?

    S**T ay
Thats really weird. Im certain it was a GR engine. Had the cap on the right, no mivec engine cover - the owner said he had never noticed any kind of difference in the engine when above 5.5k for mivec - i guess that might solve the whole body doesnt tell the age - perhaps got a GR swap and clock reset with it? sounds about right to me actually that i think about it.
Another reason to buy dj's i guess :D

Yea you need to 'insist' on your money back. He can't legally keep it because he feels like it. He should of told you everything about the car instead of being a dodgy c**t.
Did I not call this haha? Just looked at him and knew this wasn't going to end well haha.
Just tell him he can either give it to you, or give it to tje cops who will be knocking on his door for it :D

He won't be able to sell it either as the engine swap hasn't been registered with the guvmint. He also didn't point out the break on the front bumper either.

Legally you can get your money back unless you signed a paper that said deposit non refundable if not you can get your money use small claims court to do this

I like the idea on all us qld ers turning up and helping him out

 we wont need any help debt collecting  the guy was pretty small in build and seemed like the non confrontational kind, i could probably take him! That means sarp definitely could.
And even if there was a signed agreement saying non refundable, he could still get it based on misleading information in regards to the engine and the front bumper, im sure any sane small claims court would favour this. But it should be as simple as "sorry - you didnt put all the facts down, i would like my money back as the car is no longer viabe for me to purchase" or some sh*t and that should be enough to get it back (or if he doesnt he is going to wonder why 30 FTO's are parked in the street the next morning  )

 well technically no, its worse than stock - stock would have so many problems and a crummier engine in it. And who knows as far as the box goes!
