Fitting aftermarket sunroof.

Post by ftofml »

Hi guys,

Searched for it but couldnt find anything, maybe i suck! :P

Would it be possible to get an aftermarket sunroof installed?

Are there any downsides?

And anyone have a price or recommendation where to get it done.

Thanks in advance.

I believe this has come up before. Sure you can if you are willing to throw the dollars at it, but you will need to strengthen the roof and get it engineered. It's not just a matter of cutting a hole and dropping one in.

Step 1: 2 dollar shop.
Step 2: $1 can opener
Step 3: ???
Step 4: profit!

I'm kidding, but would be awesome

There's no way in hell I would put one a car let alone a FTO that has a crevice through the middle of the roof. You will have nothing but problems and it will cost a bomb. You want a sunroof? Buy one that was installed from the factory.

You can get it done easy without any problems. The only thing is it does look stupid because of the Crevice in the roof as simon noted. They cost around 1200 installed for a good quality one.

From what i saw from the ftos that had an original sunroof the roof was completely flat no crevice.

Any close pictures of your sunroof silvergpx? or any in general to see the roof.

Thanks.
