How do I find out diff type and engine number from ASA?

Post by Rob Furniss »

I've just installed ASA and I can find some vehicle details based on the VIN but how do I find other stuff out like the engine number and what diff it has?

Is this even possible as i've been looking around in ASA for ages and can't find what i'm after other than transmission is F5A42-1-E7A, can't find anything relating to the actual engine number for the VIN.

Nope, no engine number. You can reverse engineeer the options out, but as of yet, I cant make sense of them. You can also work out if it has LSD etc by entering your chassis number (DE3A...) and trying to click on the part. It wont show up if it isnt installed on the car.

Sorry to disappoint, but trust me when I say that it isnt there. I checked with my Mitsibishi contact in Japan as well as literally ripping all the data out and trying to make sense of it directly.

Hi Dstocks, could you just try this when you have a minute to confirm if it's got LSD or not according to ASA?
    DE3A 0201782

If I click on Pwrtrain and then click on 23-150 A/T Gear & Governor and then on 27690A (LSD) it lets me and adds it to the parts list.
Does this mean that it's got it fitted or that it's just an available option?

    Cheers,
    Rob
