FTO successor

Post by MattG »

As a former FTO owner, I thought I'd pose a question and see if there are any other former FTO owners still here and what car are you driving now?

Current FTO owners, if you had to sell your FTO, what car would you buy next?

Hmmmm if I sell my FTO, I would buy the E46 M3, they seem to be drop a lot in prices, especially in the manual form.

But i wouldn't, i rather keep the FTO & spend the money on something else. Cause i only travel 5km to work from my new place.

I now drive an s2000.

....
For those oldtimers on here that turned up to that big BBQ meet (at Baulkham Hills?). Remember Tommy who drove a yellow supra to the meet which he had (at the time) just recently bought? Well I just found him on an s2000 board. He sold his FTO, bought the yellow N/A supra, sold that bought a Red TT supra, sold that bought a Honda s2000.

I think I would need a really good reason to sell my FTO I love it's handling and looks for a car thats 10 years old it has kept well!

BUT if I had to buy a new car I would like a Peugot 406 2 door coupe with nice leather interior and tinted windows .......

I'll keep dreamin

Same here if I had the money I'll make it better.

Or else:

FD RX7
NSX (once they are cheap enough)

And if money is not a problem (I wish):

Porsche Carrera GT
McLaren Merc SLR

For me, I would get a Lancer Evo VIII. I have been in love with the Evo series since I saw the VI. Loved it, like the VII and now love the VIII..
Either that or a Ford XR6T..really like that car aswell.

NSX or E46 M3.

Would also be interested to see how the new Merc SLK looks in real life.

If I were to buy another car it would be either the brand new Alfa GT or Mazda RX8.

Hmm, My next car would have to fullfill these four things:

1) Has to be Jap
2) Has to be faster then the FTO
3) Can't be older then the FTO
4) Can't be too big (size & weight)

So, it comes down to something like an EVO, S2000 or 350Z... :D

A bit off topic but 350z is faster then FTO if it had the traction control off. Got a friend who had 3 x 350z in his family, & draged him couple of times. I;m suprisely beat him for the first few time when he had traction control on, but once its off, its see you later FTO.

You mean challenge your GF bro or my friend? If the traction control off, it will do the "fish tail" at the start, but it will keep pulling away from the FTO. Its around 1 1/2 to 2 car length. You got to remember its also depends on the driver, so go & get him

For me not having an FTO yet, I'm still looking forward to that for now the 5th year. A double degree and uni really screws your finance.  But after that I'd probably go for a porshe turbo 996, or a M3 E46 if I couldn't afford the before metioned. But thats just for the road, I also want a evo 6 or later to rally and build the FTO up to do some dutton or rally Tasmania events. And of course a nice big Pantek will be needed to drive around and take spares to events, not to mention saving the cars themselves. 8O I'm really going to need to work hard  :(
