Anywhere else to look for FTO's to buy?

Post by Rob Furniss »

I'm looking for an FTO in WA and I keep checking the following daily:
gumtree
tradingpost
carsales (seem to be the dearest place)
ebay (hardly ever any in WA)

And on here of course, but is there anywhere i'm missing?
I've bought the Quoka a couple of times and Autotrader but rarely seem to be any in these or they are high priced.

I was considering stretching to one from SA or Melbourne and driving it to WA but after looking at one recently that was supposed to be immaculate and was a real wreck i'm now a bit dubious about doing this. (If it was a known car - members or ex members etc then fair enough I would feel safer).

Actually seem to be a fair few about in WA at the moment on gumtree, i'm just thinking the prices are a little high for the KM's (or do they always put a higher price expecting to be negotiated down?)

Cheers,
Rob

I was thinking of selling a while ago. Ive serviced everything. But it needs roof rust cut out and the front bar repainted as an old lady reversed her tow ball into it and fractured the paint and probs a new steering rack as ive already serviced everything in the steering system it just feels too light and a stereo surround.

But thats all youd have to do, its got 162,000km, but with everything you can imagine serviced, timing belt, water pump and tensioners got done 500kms ago and the rest done 2000kms ago, fuel filter, spark plugs, drop links, bushes, sparkplug leads, cvs, gearbox oil, engine oil, tie rod ends, ball joints, thermostat, brass heatercore fittings. Little while before that had starter motor reconditioned, alternator recondtioned, tx valve, reciever dryer, new aircon gas.

$5900 as is.

Do yeah if your after a mechanically sound car which needs a little body work let me know. Im just after something a little faster and turbo RWD :P

Was that the imperial red gr auto with 46000kms in wattle grove area ?
Cause i had a look at that one on saturday and it did drive nice (had a slightly flat tyre though)he told me he would let it go for 2.5k but i said nah too much roof rust.About 5 months back i sold my red gpx manual with 160000,with new black leatherette seats uas intake pipe etc for $5300
and within 1 month it was on carsales for $8500.It was a good car had a few very minor issues, just recently i noticed they took it off carsales and i highly doubt he sold it.i still have his number if you are interested i can pm it to you.
