Well then get a set and let us know how they go? :)

No offence but your Dad knows sh*t all about tyres, Do a test yourself find someone else with an FTO with good quality but over the top rubber and drive hard esp in damp/wet conditions then try the cheap ones and see how you go.

We do a lot of work to do with tyres at work and I have done many driver/test days and can tell you the cheap ones are exactly that for a reason. They may last long but offer very little in safety and quality.

But at the end of the day its your choice and your money, if your extremely budget consious then buy cheap ones however if you like to drive hard and have confidence in the tyres get something a little better

Well i guess the only time i don't drive hard is in the wet, because i have slid out before.
I don't know the tyres i usually get are Apollo i think and are 165 Ea, i would love to have a drive on good tyres.
I'll get these tyres and see the difference from my current ones though as it comes to 520 with a front and back wheel alignment.

I also want to know,
If you are looking to dump all this money on performance mods (haltech etc), why are you looking to skimp monies on the tires? It doesn't make sense?
Even if they are good tires for their price. You can get better tires for a few hundred more,
All I can say is do your research. Read reviews and ring a few tire stores and ask their opinion.

I've got good year f1 gds3 all round and I recently changed one tyre to a 140 buck job and the thing is a joke. If I stamp on the brakes hard it's always the first to lock up but a long shot.

Bloody annoying as it feels like that tyre is loosing grip because it's flat.

I guess that's why the eagles are 300 bucks each!
