GPVR???? Noob

Post by woot woot »

Hey guys i am new to the forum but wanted to know as i cant find much info on the net. Did the GPVR come with ABS or was it removed from factory to save weight.

PS i dont have a FTO but been a massive fan since the old Gran Turismo 2 game back in the day. And went looking for one a while back but decided to buy a turbo car that has sort of drained my life but learnt a lot of technical things from it. Was thinking to move on to something NA and the FTO keeps on calling me....lol

My Version R has ABS. In earlier models, it was an option. In later models it may well have been standard though. Drivers airbag wheels were certainly that way.

cheers

My one has ABS as well. They may have been Factory fitted.

They made the GP in 96 (same as a version R). But I meant on all models, not just version R.

I thought that they chose to remove it for lightness to be a true drivers car, but i must be wrong. (I read in a article about it ages ago)
Good to know that they have it, ABS has saved me a few times, and scared me a few also.

My (old) GPvR didn't have ABS and was manufactured in June 1997.
No idea if it was only an option throughout their lifetime, or if it became standard on later models.

Well i can only conclude from everyone's cases that it was an option on all models of FTO, or possibly a specific number were made from the factory and that was it. Either way, your going to have to check if the car your buying does or not if it matters. Good luck on the hunt, you wont be disappointed with the car you buy
