Front air conditioning vents not working

Post by -Nighthawk- »

Hi all,
Currently having a problem where my front air vents don't seem to work when I select the option from the control unit. This happened over a year ago and I think it has something to do with my battery reset when my car got fixed this week.

Is there some diagnostics / repair for this?

Thanks

This is a new one! Can you switch it between the disaster and having it blow on your feet??

It is the servo.. Or whatever it is.. It is a black box that connects to the big white unit behind the dash..

The unit is black and electronic.. It plugs into a wire rod that then operates the vent..
I just had to add it ......

i take it its a automatic climate control unit?

the nylon cogs tend to go (the bit Rock_it said is joined to the servo from the steel wire)

pull it apart and check the movement...
you cant really do any damage

I just had a look today, I switched between all modes and there was absolutely no movement. Unfortunately I couldn't find where the part was exactly :( does anyone have a detailed picture of what I need to fix? And yes it is the auto control unit.

Behind the dash, there is a big white box.. That is where the air comes through..

You will have to take out all the stereo facia to see the from controller units. They are little black boxes held in with 2 screws and a clip that goes over a small metal rod.

The ones you may need to look at, should be accessible through the area near the glove box and passenger footwell.. The other one should be accessible through the drivers side.. U should be able to get tour head under there..

So what you do, is watch one of the servos, and get someone flick through the cycle and see what doesn't move.. Then replace that one..

I was able to do this myself..

I have a whole unit in my garage, but couldn't be arsed to battle the humtsmens at the moment..
I just had to add it ......
