Hi guys,
Just wondering how low does the pressure need to be to trigger the oil pressure light?
And how fast after start up should it go off?

Not sure what psi it triggers, but its pretty much 1-2 second on then off and shouldn't ever come on.

Factory oil pressure light? Its usually around 15psi.
Low oil volume is also a contributor to low pressure.

Is it "safe" to just rely on that though?
ie, is there no possibility that either pressure or circulation is low yet the light hasn't come on yet?
And, would using a good oil pressure gauge be a good option or is it unnecessary considering the car is equipped with the oil pressure warning light?
