Seriously WTF?! Jungle Fever?!

Post by Nacho »

The saga continues.....

Still got fuel and spark and no fire. Checked crank angle sensor and camshaft position sensors and re-did the timing just to make sure and still no go :(

I now suspect there's some weird wiring sh*t going on preventing the signal reaching the ECU??? I wanted to check the ECU error codes but as you see below it appears the interface for the MUTII appears to be missing? They've done some serious bit of wiring under there and haven't got a clue....anyone?

All pics were taken front on and not underneath. Let me know if there's any other photos I can post up that might help.

Wide shot of the wiring

Image

Some weird QC3 box (maybe the alarm) with a black wire coming out of the bottom exposed and not connected to anything

Image

3 fuses for don't know? Can't see these fuses in my red gpx

Image

Grey and black wire with button and not sure what it does either

Have tried testing the cam and crank sensors like you said Tim and they're both ok.

Ok so I've still got fuel coming through coz i've got wet spark plugs. Grounded sparkies and they're also firing. It's almost turning over so i'm still confident it's not related to alarm/immobiliser but thought i'd check coz of all the f*cken wiring I saw in there today.

Ok I know I'm hijacking my own thread but just need a black and white answer here:

- Piston 1 at TDC and alignment mark is on T (not 10 btdc)
- All cams lined up with their respective markers

Is that all you need for correct timing?

Hey.. With that switch.. It reminds me of an alarm I had back in the 90's..

If the alarm was turned off, and the switch was pressed, it then disables the alarm.. I guess it was used for if the alarm malfunctioned.. So like an override..
I just had to add it ......

I dont use the markings from lower timing cover. Provided the crank is on relief mark and all 4 cams are lining up on their marks after 2 complete turns of crank as well then timing should be fine. Dont mean to state obvious but if fuel in tank still ok?

where the crank gear is with timing covers off there is a small raised mark which corrosponds to the mark on crank gear to line up timing correctly ;)

That is the stain left behind on the bathroom tiles from when u relieve yourself.. Better clean it up quick, or it can stain.. Or be discovered by a house guest and cause an embarrassing situation... Lol..

Lol well my pump failed so I thought about siphoning the fuel the old fashioned way.......turns out the fuel was very far up the hose which then proceeded far into my mouth just like in the storyline of Breakback Mountain
