Cheers guys :)

Yeah, skirts are on the list, but that'll all happen in one hit with a respray. Coming into some cash in the next few weeks 8)

Fto is looking nice ben 8)
What colour are you going to have it resprayed?
Im guessing the guys are going to fix the rusty roof, and I was wondering if you could get a quote on how much they would charge just to repair the rust on the roof by its self without a complete respray.
Thanks

respray = same colour

:cheeky:

It will be the same colour, possibly marginally deeper of the same red.

Andy, was quoted $1600 to repair just the roof. Thats them doing all the work, lining out etc done properly with a respray blended down to the seam halfway down the rear pillars.

Well as you may have read, I pulled the gearbox out again to fix a hideous noise.

With the much appreciated help from Rock_it, got the box out, problem identified, repaired & at about 7pm we had the magic *Clump!* noise of the box slotting back into position. Just need to pop driveshafts back in & a few other bits, then she's good to go

Part in question that was about to obliterate was a $20 bearing... the front bearing on the primary shaft. A bearing which strangely enough, felt fine on the shaft.. covered in oil... just when we pressed it off the shaft could we feel & see the wear.

I cracked it open to check the damage... she was well & truly f*cked 8O

I expect that is what is wrong with the wifes FTO, screwed bearing.

And I reckon ours looks even worse than that!

Damn.

could be tempted.

However, need to find out if it's worth fixing this box (whether it bolts up to a different motor ;) )

Might have a yack to you at the bonfire.

Edit: finished the research and can use the gearbox, so will take you up on the offer once things get going.

Might bring the car round to you one weekend so you can have a listen, you might deduce it to be something else and not the gearbox at all.
