CCFL backlights for stereo blanking panel

Post by Taz »

Hey guys,
Searched the forums, and found that the best way to back light the stereo blanking panel is with some CCFL tubing, but i cant really pinpoint where exactly to get some from.
Ive been to a few electronic stores with them and on ebay, but they are all wayy too long, or not flexible.
Does anyone here know where i can get some in the size of about 180-190mm? Any suggestions as to where to get some would be great (and preferrably blue or if not red)
Cheers
Taz

Use some LED strip. Its cheaper, flexible and more stable in an automotive environment.

Hmm i was thinking about that, but LED's dont quite have that glow to them that CCFl does, and i would see all the individual lights as they are right behind the plate.
Still think CCFL is the way to go, and a few ppl here have done it before - so ill keep trying with this idea for a bit until i give up and go with LED's
