ill be fishing my dyno shet out from wherever it is and if it is what im saying it is then ill be having a chat to the company that did it =/
and once again, DAMN all of that for a 32HP gain...wtf
i know a lot of ppl who have done a lot less for a lot more, and i know that there is aftermarket restrictability with the FTO mivec engine as it is already getting most out of it stock, but that shouldnt mean you get a crummy 32HP from it.
ill be taking mine to the track on bonfire day to see if it stands anywhere near azzas if he is going, and to see what mine has got now that ive replaced my clutch with a CUSCO ceramic clutch and got my suspension properly tuned for track

here i am thinking that a dyno is a way to accurately determine this all when it sounds like most dynos are just a all bulls*** depending on where you go
sounds like ive been dooped and that pisses me off that ive spent money on a what seems a random readout.
does anyone know where i can get an ACTUAL dyno in brisbane that is accurate enough?
this is also good i guess in a way because now i can do a few more support mods for my supercharger on my P's rather than wait because i think im at the limit.
also, f**k me azzas is only 189, and the limit is 195.. I thought my car was too powerful for a p plate to drive and im a deadset hoon.
mind you they dont have a power to weight or a torque restriction, which is kinda stupid, considering cars like the FTO bend that whole KW limit, judging by azzas dyno.

My manager from work has a manual FG F6 Typhoon ute, rated at 315kw from factory. Shortly after buying it, he went to have a power run on a dyno to see what it would pull before any modifications. The printout from the run, which he has showed me, displayed a result of 297kw at the wheels, which is practically impossible given that the car was brand new and completely standard.

It could be the dyno. That said, a lot of the turbo V6 Falcons are under rated when it comes to power so that the V8's look like the better more powerful cars.

even with wrong dyno results, i wouldnt think 264BHP is anywhere near accurate - they are really tuggin their little fellas if they think that

Are you not reading what I am typing? Aza is achieving around a 32hp upgrade AT THE WHEELS! You have to understand the cost vs. benefit ratio of naturally aspirated performance is poor, granted there is an exception for V8s etc. There is no boost to be wound up here, or intercoolers to be added. The MIVEC 6A12 is a very highly strung and tuned engine from factory. Any performance gains from modifications, while remaining N/A are going to be minimal.

That being said, there are gains to be made, as people like Aza have shown. From watching the videos he has posted of his track days, I'd say his car is damn quick for what it is, too.

Well in kws I started with 107kws atw's now running 137kws on two dyno's.
But again numbers are nothing it's times and how well you can drive the car.

for what its worth i mentioned that while the mivec FTO engine is already tuned from the factory, 32hp just seems like f*** all for what he has done
I have also not watched this video aza has, so while i say 32 is jack all, i dont doubt that his car is lightning, just the stats on paper are ridiculous compared to what shows on the road
I guess in the end the car speaks for itself, regardless of what a piece of paper says.
(but still cant get over only 32hp )
I hope when i am finished with mine, it show more than 32hp (although i will be supercharging mine, running 10-11 pounds through it and a lot of support work) and in no way is that comment baggin azza and his 32hp, cause clearly it is quicker than the paper says

The 32hp was not stated as an exact figure for power gains by Aza's setup. That was an estimate, with the information that when an FTO was first rolled off the factory floor, it would have pulled about 157hp at the wheels.

Given that Aza has just said he originally pulled 107kw before all his modifications and now has 137, that would actually equal a gain of roughly 40 horse power.

Also remember the factory quoted figures are often not accurate to what rolls out the showroom door. Quoted figures are often based on blueprint engines, of which you would be real lucky to have one.

So drop 5 to 10% off the factory figures to start with for a new car.

I used to believe the 30hp gain BS from just performance extractors + full exhaust + CAI intake. (when i was a complete noob)
From a stock NA car, those 3 mods in fact will only give you a max. 10kw atw, provided if done right.

That sounds about right doesn't it? Considering the factory rating would be at the flywheel?

A RWD vehicle will be losing a lot more then ~5% between the engine and the wheels.

Not impossible but under quoting. The Typhoon is meant to be the little brother to then the 5.4 V8 which is meant to be better. No way Ford would have quoted the correct figure as it would have cheapen the GT. Check out my post in "other cars" section on the new 5.0 V8 GT. These things are pulling around the same at the wheel as FPV quote at the fly!
