- Interface can't be OVERLY cheap looking.

You get what you pay for. I'd check that there is support for it in Australia.

It has an analogue TV tuner so quite soon you won't be able to watch TV as they are turning off the analogue signal. Your area may have already been switched off.

I'd go for 1 with a digital TV tuner.

mmyeah I see...but also 2x the price :S. But really all I'll be using it for is CD/MP3/DVD. I'm sure we could all agree no free tv on the move isn't a great loss..

I know someone who bought one of these from ebay and they have had

constant problems,it would only work sometimes but when it did it was ok.

It had to be sent back twice and it still has problems.Avoid.

Well I say go for it. f**k who cares if it only lasts a year or two. The ones I get are double that price but I have been so impressed and never had a problem with mine.

Ive bought 3 of the cheaper units now and never had a problem. If it only lasts 2 years, thats OK. Just buy another one when it dies (itll be time to upgrade anyway). I dont believe you get what you pay for with this sort of stuff unless you really appreciate high quality video/audio. Personally I cant tell the difference, so the extra cost is wasted on me. Also, generally the cheaper units play more file formats/have more functionality. To get an equivalent named brand expect to pay 3-4 times as much. To my mind thats not worth it. Can get some pretty decent mods with the difference.

Wow, here I was thinking it costs $1500+ for a DVD player for in-car.

I just purchased my Clarion head unit for $550 (discounted) last year in Feb which is better than the cheaper JVC/Pioneer etc you get in places like jbhifi etc, and now you can buy in-car DVD players for $180 lol, talk about a major price drop.

Its not recent. I bought my first 7" screen DVD player about 3 years ago now for $200. Just recently died, so just bought another with GPS and touchscreen this time.

Actually, that one looks quite nice. Was avoiding the motorised face ones on ebay because they cant be inset into the dash and end up looking all boxy (they stick out about an inch). Looks like that one has solved that issue and can be recessed properly.

I solved that problem with the sticking out.

I cut the metal at the back in the dash so it went back further.

The one I had was catching on the stereo surround. Just didnt work.
