Those are becoming like Mercedes are these days... lots of power but little traction and lots of weight.

Latest motor mag has a shootout of current aussie muscle cars..
This gt thang was given decent cred, but handling is still chat. On a real world surface, it was running lowish 13s 1/4.
The thing has 245 rear tires standard rofl.

Stock GS ute (less powerful 315 KW) with a 1000 buck tune only did an 11.7!Delvance wrote:Latest motor mag has a shootout of current aussie muscle cars..

Well with a light tune and M/T street radials we are into the 11's with trap speed of roughly 200km/h. Damn impressive for an engine that has not been touched mechanically. All this from an automatic transmission, taxi boat.

Stuff all dollars spent for an 11 second machine awesome. To get into the 11's with no mechanic changes, not even an inter cooler is damn good.

Well actually the auto slushbox will most likely be helping times, not hindering it.
The slushbox will provide good easy launches and keep boost on in between gearchanges thanks to the stally. It will likely shift quicker than a lot of drivers too.
I wouldn't say stuff all dollars as the purchase price is still there.
I'm still not impressed

What's wrong with the dollars? 60k for a high 12 second car is cheap in anyones language. There are not many cars that do this stock and seat 5 people comfortably.Delvance wrote:Well actually the auto slushbox will most likely be helping times, not hindering it.

Definitely with the 6 speed ZF auto, but just was implying easy speed from an auto.

Can't please everyone but they've got them going 11/12 secs down the quarter mile now.. pretty good for a family sedan and ute i think, they are as fast as a ferrari in a straight line... maybe not the corners.. but its a traditional muscle car.

I guess so, if you asked me to be unbiased for a moment. It is rather impressive but different strokes for different folks eh..payaya wrote:What's wrong with the dollars? 60k for a high 12 second car is cheap in anyones language. But hey, i'm a jdm whore sooooo...
If i needed a taxi runabout with oomph and was gonna spend 60k... i'd go toyota aristo/chaser... get that 2j to 600hp, lowered a bit, nice fat set of work wheels and a subtle kit...and have lots of pocket change from 60k too. That'll keep falcodores honest!

For 60k you could have a real car, like a boosted A4!
