Re: Re spray pricing..
Eh forgot about this thread lol.
I never went through with it...idk what happened just started spending money on everything else but a respray? lol.
Anyway the time has come again where I WANT a respray... Lets see if I actually go through with it this time.
Btw, you guys seem to not understand. $599 is the basic price if you have a straight body etc. Prep work is charged by most of the places which charge you $3000+. Correct me if I'm wrong but prep work also involves them straightening out the body.... cause lets face it...they're not gona paint over dents and flaws in your body otherwise their work will be criticized?
This place charges you $599 + $$ for prep work + $$ for straightening out the body.
A closer figure would be $1000ish.
Meh, lets see how this goes again....not going to give a time frame this time cause lets face it....they're never met
Oh btw....they've changed their base rate to $699
hahahaha

Re: Re spray pricing..
lol prepwork, it is so easy to do all that yourself unless if you have huge dents all over the car ,seriously i was a apprentice spray painter for 2 years and after they would fill up the dents and sand feather out all the faded spots and spray primer over those spots ,they would use a scouring pad to scratch up the rest of the paint ,then apply the top coat lol ,they couldnt be bothered to primer the whole car.If you did the prep yourself then $600-700 sounds about right but if they want over 1k then they would probably primer the whole car as well.mosti wrote:Eh forgot about this thread lol.

Re: Re spray pricing..
Drove all the way out to bayswater today for an actual non phone quote and these are the prices they came up with....
Sand the car back, fix any dents and spray everything 2pac - $3000+
If I prep the car myself (keeping in mind the body must be straight..no dents etc) - $1400
Spray the main body (car must be straight, doesn't include front and rear bumper or sideskirts) - $799
So there you have it...advertising at it's best...
Oh and I was told an fto is a medium sized car so the $699 respray is bumped to $799....
Buon apetit!

Re: Re spray pricing..
Complete respray + repairs to body, will cost around $5,000.
$599 is probably their 1990 Suzuki Swift Acrylic same colour respray. (nothing fancy)
Who ever has had their car resprayed at this place, probably doesn't want anyone to know about how much of a bad job was carried out on their car.
I'm just saying.

Re: Re spray pricing..
I think the term for this is 'bait' advertising, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Australia. If you notified ASIC or Dept of Fair Trading you might find them in a little bit of trouble...
