Rattling sound coming out from rear speaker

Post by Bamboo »

Sorry peeps, I'm a fresher with cars, just got my FTO last month, please accept any of my silly question.

Whenever the song hits to its high bass, the rear speaker rattles. Anyway that I can repair it ? I have tried to open up the rear cover (to have an overall inspection on the rear speaker) but was having real difficulties due to limited space built.

Thank you for your time !

Could have a blown speaker
Or the speakers could be virbating some thing else
Or the rear tray is damaged and the bass makes it shake
I have the same issue atm don't know if I've blown my speaker or its the back deck can't be bothered to check so been listening to music last few months with just front on lol

the rear parcle tray has tabs with metal clips on them that push into the actual metal frame. Most likely they are damaged and rattling around when bass hits. Another one to look out for ir is that rear seat can make squeek noises if not secured on top hooks correctly

Yep, my money is on the rear parcel shelf. To get it out, the rear seats have to come out. I think I did a guide on Complete FTO for that.

Pull tabs under the seat ( part u sit on ) then pull the seat up then u will see the 2 bolts holding the back of the seat on unbolt them and slide the seat up ( there's 3 hooks that hold it on ) then u will be able to unscrew the screws holding the tray in then lift it out and done

I have removed all the back seats even unscrewed the bolts but couldnt remove the tray that covers the rear speakers. It seems that there are two metal cylinders that stuck the tray from shifting out. Noooooooo !

Found out that the rattling sound might have came from the loosen tray that have left the lining gaps opened, I guess I need to stuff something along the gap to enclose the sound and to produce vacuum or something. Will post up some pics soon to gain some advice. Thanks for helping.

those metal cylinders are child seat restraints

I dont have any 8) but all cars are required to have them for cert, you can unbolt them fairly easy mate
