I know what he got!!!!!
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Re: HKS FTO
I've taken the afternoon off work so thought I'd fit the filter today instead of at the weekend. Firstly though, I noticed when I got home last night that my bonnet is sitting wrong.

On further investigation today, the new oil filter is too big and the bonnet is being lifted by it. Envy are ordering one in and will replace it at the weekend...bloody apprentice.
Here's the before picture of the old filter in the car

This is it when I took it out (yes, it looks like mickey mouse) so I'm glad I ordered the new one instead of trying to wash this one.

The new one looks huge

But fits fairly easily and looks much better now.

Oh, and as for the dyno results.... red = 7lbs boost and green = 10lbs of boost.

It's running too lean to run any more boost. With the computer gear it's running, they just can't tune it any more so I've been quoted a Haltec and will probably wait until next year for that and an exhaust.
Apparently "there is plenty more to get out of it. Expect over 210 with the Haltec and exhaust done."
So now it is running more power on 7lbs than it was on the old 9lbs.
I'm not entirely sure how that feels on the road though as it was so damn wet on the way home last night. I was spinning in 3rd gear and drifting across the lanes at over 100km/h.

Yeah, I've spent countless hours fixing apprentice fuckups lol. Just get 'em to stick to the dynoing.

It's still dry outside and I have to go out later so will give it a bit of a run to see how it goes.
We're not sure. My mechanic thinks that it does because it was running so lean when he first put it on the dyno he didn't push it at all and he said he'd never seen a stock engine not blow up from running that lean. Perhaps we can crack it open at uncle Bennoz 1 weekend and take a look.phunkydude wrote:Is this hks fto still with stock internals?

Yeah, over 200kw would be good and that'll do me. Won't be going ridiculous after that. Going to check out suspension and brakes at the weekend and also get another quote for the exhaust.

Re: HKS FTO
it looks like they have moved where the mivec kicks in to smooth it out, is that the case?

Re: HKS FTO
Not sure Rich, it doesn't have a Mivec controller so I don't know if it's possible to change that with HKS gear it's running.RichardB wrote:it looks like they have moved where the mivec kicks in to smooth it out, is that the case?
No, that's just for the replacement filter.silverGPX wrote:can i get the cage at that price too?

Re: HKS FTO
Looking great! 174fwkw w00!
Would be nice and quick now!
Max i had in a fwd was 180 or so in the mps3 but that car has a narrower rpm band and ~200kg more.
Just one thing AJ, on the graph for the high boost run, the motor was wound out to 8700rpm..i would be hella uncomfortable for someone to be doing that while not knowing 100% the motor is built. Note the factory cutout is 8250rpm and that's with no boost.
Happy hunting
