FTO written-off by insurance

Post by rhapsody »

Our '95 GPX FTO was hit by van and assessor has decided it is a total loss write off, I've been given a payout figure of 6k and Pickles are picking it up next week, I would really like to keep the 17in tyres & wheels but I sold the old ones last year, anyone know a quick and easy fix? not thinking of buying it back too much hassle.....

thanks :?

bad luck mate, looks like u cant keep anything thats on your car now.. since they gave u the price already, unless u want to buy the wheels back? but i doubt they would let you..

I talk a lot of sh*t, usually have to keep a roll of toilet paper handy in the car for my mouth

thanks guys..
sorry bout your car Chiinkstarrh,
I didn't list the rims in my insurance so when I asked to swap out they said as long as I swap with standard or similar lucky me!
I will ask the insurance if I can buy back on monday as i have had an offer for the whole car if the price is right so could be worth my while....
anyone know if I will get a credit back on the rego/green slip??

If u buy it back with the plates you should be able to hand them in at the RTA and get a refund, then contact your CTP for a refund on that too :)

How much were you offered for it and how much damage. Without that info, I dont think anyone would be able to make that call.
