Loud Screeching noises

Post by nikhan »

Ok so when I start my car up yesterday it just started screeching non stop for like 10 secs. This was without switching on my ac yet. Thought on the cold days it would screech as well just when i turn my ac on after starting my car.

So looking at the previous post i reckon that it is the ac power steering prob which the part number im looking at is 6PK1080. Does it matter if its a GPX or its same across the board?

Is there anything else I should be looking for ie tensioners pulleys etc??

Also just wondering does these screeching noise have to do with my timing belt being stuffed as well?

Mine does the same thing especially when cold most likely the ac belt or alt belt.Dont think it would be the timing belt, however if its the tensioners or pulleys the noise would be constant like i had on my van which ended up costing over 2k to fix but there are different makes and models.

If it's not the belt then it could be the alt's tensioner pulley.
