Can you change into any other gear? or is it just 3rd that its letting u be in ... because if its a manual it could be your gear shifter bracket... mine recently broke and i was only able to use first and third gear... had to weld it back together.

Nah, itll be a tip and its gone into limp mode. There will be an issue with the grarbox. Youll need to read the error codes. Plenty of threads about this. There will be a number of things it could be and without reading the error codes, impossible to tell which one.

mines doing this right now.. reason being because the wiring to my left front indicator was hanging down and rubbing against the wheel, so its torn the wire and cause two of my fuses to blow, the gears and indicators pretty sure.

Check the fuses in the driver footwell and in the engine bay.
    LED ALL the things.

if the fuse is blown than yes it sure can, and a blown fuse 99% of the time is a result of a short somewhere.

The same fuse controls many other electrical bits like indicators etc

its seriously a 2 sec job to replace fuse but will take longer to find the cause of short. However you may got lucky and was just water causing the short
