I could do with some help (gaskets, tappet adjustment tool)

Post by Sweep »

Hi guy more proplems so much for the car being running today, the dumb c*#t fu#k face who ordered the gasket set for me screwed up.
Im not sure how many times I told him it was a mivec V6 along with the correct part number but it obviously wasant enough. All the lower head gaskets are the same but the rocket cover, Inlet Manifold to Cylinder Head Gaskets are different.
Anyways I have spent some time searching for the Inlet Manifold to Cylinder Head Gaskets MD308040 within australia but ive had no luck I found the on camsklill but I was hopeing to get them in australia.
So does anyone know of any other mitsu dealers I could try for the gaskets?

Secondly I was wondering if anyone had a makeshift tappet adjustment socket/spanner they could lend me for my V6 mivec?
Probably have to do it through the post but id be more than happy to cover the postage and post it back to you along with some extra cask to cover some beer?
I have tried making one but I keep on ferking it up.

Thanks
guys
Andy

Dude, do with Camskill. Exchange rate is pretty good now. I spent far more 4 months ago. :(

Postage will be a little expensive though, due to the gaskets, so I suggest you pick up other stuff too.

Anything wrong with the old gaskets? They can be re-used if they were removed nicely..

I have a rocker cover from when I oredered the gaskets before I had to buy the complete kit so I already have one thanks.
Bennoz,
Theirs nothing wrong with the old gaskets but the guy whos rebuilding the topend for me didant really want to take a chance with them.
He said because its the Air inlet its not worth taking the chance of damaging the engine incase of a air leak.
Has anyone re used thier old gaskets before?

yep i reused my intake manifold gasket, it stayed on the block though. Should only be a drama if it sticks while your lifting the intake manifold off.

On closer inspection I think one of the gaskets may be unuseable some of the coating has cracked off, I ordered a new set from camskill tonight.
Still lost with the tappet tool I dont mind buying one but im not going to pay the prices mitsu wants for them.
