smoked rear tail lights

hey guys, my names rafael. im new to the club and whole whats legal and illegal on the road since im only a p-plater.
i saw a few fto's in the gallery with smoked or tinted tail lights and i was just wondering if it was legal? just incase i get pulled over and i wouldnt know what to say.

Pretty sure it is legal your best bet would be to double check with the RTA or even the police and when you do find out let us know lol :P cause i have been interested in them myself haha

its ilegal u will be fined
vht tint is a spray tint the can says for off road use only

Or get a tint vinyl and LED lights.

if you get pulled over apolgise and ask him to let you peel it off.

thats my plan 8)

so do you suggest that i dont get them done? or risk it for the biscuit?

if you're going to do it id go vinyl its easy to peel of intentionally but wont come off on its own.

Plus if you get a good cop he won't give you a defect for taking it off in front of him.

It looks good, so why not?

Havnt heard of anyone on the forum getting done for it and I did my red FTO and got pulled over many times and none said anything about them :/

as long as the reflector still works, i guess it shouldn't be a problem.

so, does the reflector still shines when lights pointed on it?

Yeah. The brake lights still reflect light.

Obviously not as much as without the tint but it does still reflect enough IMO.

i dont think it is man depending how dark it is cause my mate has it on his civic for like two years now and its the spray one but your choice

any pics of with brakes and lights on Shhtuart in day and night just to see how much it affects the light out put cause when i tinted my corolla blinkers i only tinted them light and it blocked a fair bit of light

depends on the person as it is ilegal to tint them some may not pass it due to they would be passing a car that is ilegal to be on the road
some wont care as long as your lights are bright enough

i wouldnt risk it =] if you get a good cop then might have a chance but if not ....
your gonna have it on for your everyday driving if you do decide to tint em. but cops love to pull these things over ;)

dont know about other states but QLD for sure lol

or do something like ME! :o
