Re: Transporting front bar in FTO?

Managed to fit it in my car just right, nowhere near the window, and it's a bozz speed!
I placed it diagonally with the rear up high and the other end down on passenger seat/footwell.

and, i got a crazy? quote from cameron's through email.
6.0hr for prep-ing front bar (primer?) @30/hr - $180
3.0hr for remove & fit new bar @30/hr - $90
3.0hr for painting new bar @75/hr - $225
GST 10% - $50
Total = $545!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a price of another bar!!!
OR, that's considered normal price to pay to get a bar painted and fitted???

Thanks.!

$350 is about the going rate for a bar to paint.

Well its a brand new bar so it costs more then painted a second hand one but shouldn't be that much, they quoted me 200 after mine was repaired, but then charged me 250 because they had to do abit more repair work apparently...

Where did you get the bozz from?

A brand new bar shouldn't cost anymore

I got told by a few panel beaters that a new bar always costs more because they need to prime it twice and sand it down twice..?

Camerons lol that's why I thought it was wierd. Even though they did a decent job on painting the bar, they didn't touch up my sideskirts like I asked or fitted them properly. Won't be going back there to fix them up or fit/paint my rear bar!!

hmm, 200 vs 545. That's quite a difference between repainting painted bar vs new bar.

not sure where i should head to, is there other place that you reckon?
cameron's rep seems good as the name appears on every thread that i google on. but the quote i got, ain't cut it.

Yeah dude I wouldn't pay 545 either, I did the same thing a good of reputable body places and they were mainly the top, but yeah I dunno man, go around and get a few quotes and go with the one you thinks best. ;)

If I got nothing to do tomorrow I might go for a drive to a few different body shops and grab a quote to fix my sideskirts and paint/fit a new rear bar for when i get it.

Neither DMD or my local guys charge anymore. Plus I organised to get my bosses sons front bar painted and the 3 shops I all called were the same regardless of new or old bar.
