Re: Lawso's project thread
You bloody well should be! Your car changed it attitude towards me today...
- Put the track day cat back in.
- Stripped timing assembly off. Belt is actually ok, everything else is not.
- Checked & removed water pump. Also leaking into timing area.
- Checked & removed timing belt seals. All fucked, all rock hard, all leaking everwhere
- Finally.... found a couple of really baaad things....
Leaking rear cam seals

Leaking idler bearing

Leaking front cam seals

Leaking water pump

Results of leaks

Cracked cam seals. Harder than Chuck Norris.

Snapped rear cam carrier shell. Just happens to be the one that supplies the oil to the cam bearings

Now for the days winner. Free beer to whoever can guess what's wrong with this picture....

Fook looks like you have your work cut out for you thier ben!
If you need any gaskets / seals I will have some spare I had to buy a complete VRS topend kit but I will only be useing half of the seals and gaskets as im only doing one block, plus I have a set of cam seals which i ordered seperatly to the vrs kit.
Would be happy to let a fellow forum member have them cheap.

Thanks Sweep, but we're gonna need a full VRS kit here too. That last pic is of a bent valve.
Where did you get the kit?
