Stock intake

Post by Rambo »

Today i changed my stock air filter box back to HKS pod filter, but when doing this i notices the intake piping "snorkle going through the engine bay to the behind front bar coming out sideways!, now whoever designed it at Mitsubishi is a total idiot.. it has 4 bends from the snorkel to the engine.. anyone else notice this?, ill take a picture if knowone gets me.

Yep, quite a few people (including me) have replaced this with a custom cold air induction setup.

A flexible 3 inch tube actually threads right into that hole. f**k off the stock item & just run the pipe from there to the back of your front bar mesh.

Most auto shops or hardwear shops have it.
I got the alloy flex tube from hardwear house, I think it was around $15-$20.

Maybe it was meant for intake noise reduction.. Oh well.

Stef, my airbox is based on Koolio's template, I've never had any issues with it yet and its not too hard to make, you just need patience, tough scissors, and precision cutting skiellzzzz with the scissors
