Seals - where to get them?

Post by JOeJOe »

Below is from an old thread that I found.

MD153103 - this is the seal that goes on the timing belt end. It is a fairly critical oil seal. It stops oil from the head getting into the timing belt area, which is of course, dry. This part number gives a quantity of 4 (which is how many you need.)

MD180402 - this is the cam seal on the gearbox end of the motor. Again, this part number gives you 4. I have a tip so would I need these?
MD193910 - This is the half moon seal that goes under the rocker cover on the gearbox end of the motor. The part number gives you 2. You will need 4.

Where can I get these? Could I just order them through SuperCheap/Repco etc??

Mitsi specific products unfortunately.

I dunno, I haven't checked, but do camskill sell 'em seperately?

You might find Mitsi Aus prices aren't too bad on those because they're common seals to the locally sold 6A12 engined Galant (HJ)

Not sure if camskill sells them separately, the set they're have on the site goes for 150 pounds. I might check with mitsi first.

Camskill do sell them sepertatly as do mitsi, I noticed that as far as the seals are concerned mitsi are pretty well priced.
However I phoned mitsi up today after a quote on a full gasket set for the engine and they quoted me $700.00 8O Were I can get the full set from Camkill for $300.00 delivred.
Just make sure you do some research and get the correct part numbers together as not all seals & gaskets are the same throught the fto models, and if you do not supply the right part number and just a description it can land you in all sorts of bother as far as receiving the wrong parts are concerned as I found when i tried to order them through repco, who would just order them through mitsi anyway.
