NEWBEE :(

Post by renzkuken1 »

Hey guys, i'm chris and i just purchased an FTO GPX MIVEC at 135,000 km's.
It's my first car and i'm slowly learning more about it and cars in general.
I have a veilside 2 bodykit on it i think and not really too sure on much other specs of it :/

It is an automatic with tiptronic.

Can you guys help me out with increasing it's bhp?

I was thinking about a new air filter and enclosure/piping but i truelly don't know where to start. The sound system is amazing as i just wired all that myself.

I have scissor doors and the battery seems to be playing up as i left the door open for not even an hour and i had to get my car jump started..

Also when i'm in automatic it sometimes gets stuck in 3rd gear and won't go to 4th so i have to go to tiptronic and push it to 4th, i'm unsure of this problem.

Any help you guys have would be much appreciated! As i said it is my first car

Thanks in advance guys.

Chris.

Well you've come to the right place.

The knowledge base here is great and if there's an engine mod for the FTO it's been tried here.

I'm running a HKS Super Dragger exhaust system & HKS pod intake and it runs quite well.

No idea on power figures as it's never been on a dyno.

I'd start with exhaust, intake and extractors for your bolt on options.

Anything other than that could get really costly.

Welcome

for more BHP start with the breathing mods

as for auto issue, try rsetting ECU via disconnecting battery. The box will then be in learn mode next few time you drive it and will change gears according to your driving style. The previous owner may of had a totally different style to you

Hope that helps ;)

yeahh my car is red :D
And i have reset battery. Will note that it remembers the way i drive :D
Also i have a friend that argues the point with me that there is no difference in a 100 dollar air filter and a 300 dollar one lol
Can you guys help me put in words what the difference is?
And what filter would you reccomend i put on it?
Also i have no idea if the exhaust is stock or custom aha i know it's really really loud.
I'll throw a picture up.

Think someone could compile a list of parts to get first for it to make it not sound so tinny says my mates and what air filter.

Pretty much what upgrades i should be getting first and how much they are item names etc :D

And ill intro myself in newbz section. Cheers in advance.

nothing wrong with it that i know of but i would take it to a mechanic and maybe have it checked out because i wouldnt be suprised if there maybe something majorly wrong with it

just the last guy who owned your car was a retard.

he tried to sell it on here for a massive price.
he knew absolutely nothing about the car and tried to sell it overpricing all of the mods on it and even stating some it didnt have
e.g. a bloody italian red custom paint job .

anyway wttc
i hope you dont find anything else wrong with it

Well i have had it to a mechanic as i slid into a gutter in the wet so cost me 1500 to repair front right steering and back right wheel. Nast hit dead sideways up the gutter :/

Im still waiting for mechanic to get front spoiler back as it was damaged he is getting it repaired.

Is there anywhere i can get a front bumper from for a disant price?

From memory I think he was asking about 19K
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Cheers, it's from carmate. Now if your gonna buy a bodykit, don't buy it from carmate, they are all rubbishly made... EXCEPT the bonnet fits perfect. :) So only purchase bonnets from them otherwise the body shop is gonna charge you for having to modify the frontbar/sideskirt/rearbar etc etc to make it fit.

Goodluck.
