I had my car serviced a year ago and my arsehole mechanic changed my two bottom engine mounts, He charged me $300 each which is how much it would cost if i was to buy them from mitsi Australia so i didn't think it was necessary to check to make sure he put the right ones in.
However the engine has been moving around a lot lately when shifting so i took a look at them and the parts they used are Boonma Mounts part numbers 4551 and 4552 which has on the label its for a Mirage CE 4g15 96 - 00 Model. From memory though the mounts looks the same but there is a 1mm difference so although they work at first they quickly wear out.
So am i able to take the car back to the mechanic and get them to fix it up free of charge even though it's been a year? Or should i just make a complaint to some government department
Or has anyone kept there worn out mounts that i can buy off them or donate and then i'll just replace the inserts??

I'd say that if hes charged you for fto mounts and told you the were fto engine mounts then you could hve a legal case because they're really mirage mounts.
