Pedders Safety Check

Ok took my car to Pedders to get the 28 points safety check for $14.

Heres what the report said:

Front
Sway Bar & Bushes = Fail - Noisy, recommend replacement $165 (for 2)
Sway Bar Links = Fail - Noisy (pedders dont supply)
Steering Gear = Fail - boots recommend replace $173 (for 2)
C.V Joits = Fail - LH Boot torn, Requires replacement $208 for 1

Rear
Shocks = Fail - Soft, Lacking Control $406 for 2
Lateral Arms (upper) = Fail - Bushes Soft, recommend replace (pedders dont supply)
Trailing Arms (lower) = Fail - Bushes Soft, recommend replace $238 for 1

Parts $680
Labour $510
Total $1,190

Ok... screw pedders!

Where can i get these parts cheaper? i might do it myself!

Ummm.... I just replaced all that for you, including greasing the buses. How the hell can they possibly be 'noisy' LOL

Yeah thats fair enough, we knew those were shot we I put those second hand ones on. They're $50 a pair on Ebay right now.

Steering Gear = Fail - boots recommend replace $173 (for 2)

"Recommend?" LOL. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

$208? LOL. $30 from any Auto One / Super Cheap type store (HJ Galant)

Shocks = Fail - Soft, Lacking Control $406 for 2

$203 each??? LOL! $105 a pop from Tubular suspension Systems

Lateral Arms (upper) = Fail - Bushes Soft, recommend replace (pedders dont supply)

LOL in general. There is no possible way of telling that without removing them.

Trailing Arms (lower) = Fail - Bushes Soft, recommend replace $238 for 1

$238 each?? More LOL!! $76 a pair from any Auto One / Super Cheap type store. Superflex part.

haha i went for one of those on a saturday and they even forgot to ask me to pay the $14!

and he said i needed a whole new rear hub assembly.

I took mine down and they told me about the engine mounts.

They asked if i wanted them ti source and fit and i laughed and said no thanks.

I could imagine the bill for that.
