Hi all,
I just purchased a '96 FTO GPX and it's in need of a gearbox oil change.
I've done a fair bit of reading and decided to go with Redline but I'm unsure whether to use MT90 or a mixture of MTL and MT90. I live over in Perth so it's fairly hot so I'm leaning towards just straight MT90.
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

Good question mate! Answer is I don't think anyone really knows.
I hate oils.
I believe the official word from Redline is a mixture of MTL and MT90 as you suggested, however I don't know anyone that has done so. Bennoz reckons that MT90 is alright as it is a GL4 oil which doesn't have the potentially harmful additives of some of the GL5 oils such as the Redline shockproof range have. Having said that I think some people have used Shockproof on here before without any issues.
So I would say if you want to stick with the good stuff, do what Redline says and mix the two and see how you go.

Important question to ask first is whether you have LSD or not.
If yes go with Motul FF-LSD.

I ran the VIN through the Mitsubishi ASA program I downloaded and one of the parts available is a limited slip so maybe it does have a LSD (I haven't actually picked the car up yet so I can't physically check).Important question to ask first is whether you have LSD or not.
I might have to wait until I know for sure whether it has a LSD or not. For some reason I just assumed it didn't. Thanks Shane for mentioning that otherwise I probably would have wasted $100 on the wrong oil.
