Insomniac quiz for the day:

Post by BorepYano »

I'm bored and can't sleep, so in my insomniac state i thought this up, see if you can solve this:

If the distance between each degree of longitude at the equator is approx 111km, what is the approximate distance between the following coordinates:
90°N, 100°E; and
90°N, 30°W

If it helps, you can assume the earth is a perfect sphere, instead of a oblate spheroid.

Cookie for the first person to get it :D

P.S. Yes Stef, I did post this up on my FB as well, so you don't need to make any special mentions of that, or in fact this on FB either.

Its not actually 0km, as the earth is not a perfect sphere, the answer should be 0.0000000079km

well actually, since the N90° means it's the north pole, and every longitude line converge/originate at both of the poles, so N90° and any longitude value will always pin point the same point (the north pole), so the answer is exactly 0 ;) :P

You need to get a hobby or maybe a job
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Thread spamming seems to be a popular hobby around here, maybe you could take that up.

Oh wait, nevermind.
