FS SYD: Full set KYB Climb Gear Shocks & Springs - SOLD

Post by Shane001 »

I've got a full set of KYB Climb Gear shocks with springs for sale. $200 pickup only.
http://www.kybweb.com/kybes/new_pilot/j ... _gear.html

These were the shocks that came with my race car when I bought it. They were in perfect working order when I pulled them off to fit the Teins. They could do with new bump stops though, but otherwise very good condition.

Part numbers on the shocks are;
Front: CGT5124R/L
Rear: CGG9134

Not sure what the springs are, but I don't believe they are standard. Here's a pic of the car with these shocks fitted;

    I would suspect so but have no idea as I've never had an FTO with stock suspension, all I can offer is have a look at the pic above, that is how it sat with these shocks and springs installed.

    Again yes I suspect they are stiffer than stock, have a read of the link from KYB.

    All I can compare them to though is the Tein HA's I now have on the car. Put it this way, I never thought Eastern Creek was as bumpy as it is until I installed the Teins!!

    With the KYB's above, the car still handled well (when I put Ric Shaw in it for a session at OP, he came back in and told me not to touch it, he was quite happy with the suspension. For those that don't know Ric has raced just about everything and everywhere lol!) but was not nearly as sensitive to bumps as the Teins are. You really feel every bump with the Teins, but with these the car felt quite 'comfortable'.

    Of course this is all relative, I've only ever driven this car flat out on a racetrack, never been driven on the street. :lol:

    I suspect that these will be a good sports option for street and occasional track use though.

    HTH.

    What size are your rims? I have 17's at the moment so if it looks like that then should be sweet.

    Will they go well with KYB gas shocks? I bought a set of new rears, but haven't fitted them yet.

    Feel free to reply only if Joe's not going ahead with the sale.

    Cheers

    Yep, you've probably got the Excel-G's(?).

    From what I can figure these are a step up from the Excel-G's.

    Yes! They should be, now that you mentioned the name, as they sound real familiar. :)

    Not a good idea to mix, I suppose... hard front soft rear.
