Stock Mitsubishi Oil Temperature Gauge Questions

Post by hugekim »

The stock oil temperature gauge has never worked in my car so I decided to try fix it (btw this is classified as an electrical gauge, not a mechanical one right?).
It lights up but there is no reading. I have close to zero knowledge about wiring so I just took some quick snaps instead

Do the wires look OK? Sorry about the sh*t photos haha

Also, how do you change the light for this type of gauge. This is the back, you can't just pop out the bulb like the other gauges.

Maybe swap the wires around :? It's just a stab in the dark.

is the sender on the sump plug for the stock oil gauge???

there is a wire connected to the sump plug but its a bit frayed. and it gets in the way when trying to undo the sump plug.

ive followed the wire in the engine bay but in some places its hard if impossible to trace where it goes.

oil filter adapter is connected to a oil cooler so cant have a sender there.
