Stop winging. Come and talk to me when your ONLY option is satellite. I pay $70 per month for the top plan which is about 1/2 the speed of ADSL and has a maximum download of 3 gig per month. Run out about the 25th of every month (and that is being careful) and revert to dial up speed. I wish I could get wireless. That would still crap all over what I have access to.

The problem in this country is a bunch of bungling politicians who failed miserably to bring the country inline with world standards when they happened 15 years ago.

Everyone should have access to high speed internet. I've said it before & I'll say it again - we are in the year 2010, yet with persist with mid 90's technology.

If I wanted to be listening to Stone Temple Pilots and driving an EF Falcon with dial up, I woulda stayed in the 90's.

is that sh*t parts of society that are f**king useless and have high unemployment rates and high crime rates, ie half the central coast. have internet faster than places were dstocks lives, which i assume from the amount of ftos he owns + pictures ive seen that it is a higher class place

the whole australia doesnt need faster internet. the decent parts of australia do.

lol Also, have you tried a few different routers? I know some of the Billion items have a good rep for dealing with low quality line signals....so you could possibly gain a couple of hundred extra download kw's lol.

At my old place in the gong I borrowed a mates Billion 7402(i think) and got a gain of around 1Mb over the Dynalink one we had in the house. Was too cheap to be bothered to go and buy one though. Definitely good pieces of gear.

Just add a 6A13TT to the Billion and that should fix it all up real good.

Even poor people need internet access, how will they find and apply for a job? Most positions these days require online application. The Internet is also the biggest source of educational material for students, whether their well off or come from a low socio-economic background.

Australia is also 2nd* on the worlds HDI (human development index), which I know some consider to be quite arbitrary but when you consider how many other scales we top then it makes some sense and you learn to appreciate what we have.


Anyways, better get back on topic before I go off on any more tangents
