Re: work???
I moved here on May 8th, started applying for jobs on the 10th and got a job interview and job offer on that same day. Doing the same type of job i had at home, which is mechanical and electrical engineering of high voltage switchboards.
Came over on a WHV and now am in the proceedings of being sponsored by my company.
If you are serious about moving here for a year, you can find a job easily.

If you can operate big gear like that, you'll be a shoe-in in the mining industry. Perth ftw.

Re: work???
I stand corrected, but its still very hot and not much around there. MAte who lives up there has to drive 2hours to wrk and back each day and does 10-12 hours doing electrical mine work during. SO the money is very nice, but the work conditions will be fairly horrible.

Re: work???
you could help build roads
its a pretty cushy job
its about 10 minutes of work a day and 9 hours of smoke breaks and supervising
from what ive seen they need atleast 2 people to watch while someone works

lest the guys would prob swap around and give each other breaks
as for finding a job it all depends on the type of work and your skills and where you move
