so, wouldnt they had better off just changed my head gasket too while they were changing my cam&crank seals? wouldve been much easier? And with the receipt, it says they did "remove drive belt, cam an crank seals, refit all pulleys an camshaft belt and cam covers and engine ancillaries. It doesnt really tell me if they just replaced the front or rear.
AND OMGGGG just saw on camskill site, a new alternator is £132.82? and i paid 575 to re-con mine? -_- wtfff

All these questions that you asked on here should have been directed at the mechanic who did it, not second guessing what they should and/or should have done online. Go back to them and ask.

Dont worry eddie, you are fine, ignore joejoe. This is exactly what the forum is for.

Mate I need to chat with them to find out what is going on as there is somthing a miss with all of this.
I know that you can have more than one problem at a time, but somtimes the 2nd one won't show untill the 1st is fixed :?

If I finish work at a good time tomorrow I will drop in there and have a chat with them for you.

thanks I8A4RE an aza, they just called me back, saying they can see its the head gasket seal leaking, an i ask can it be the rocker cover gasket an they said no, they can see its leaking from the head, they quote me around 1500-1800 for it. and i asked my mates dad (mechanic) about it, he said its not just replacing the seals, would need to machine it an stuff? so confused, dont know what to do

aza is the top bloke!

yeah, the engine head needs to be machined "skim" to ensure its completely flat for new head gasket installation. look at the bright side. it shaved off a little thickness off the head and it increases compression which improves power. (teeny bit)

happy now? lol

that pulse place seems like a bit of a rip off

if you feel like taking a drive up to the central coast i know a very experienced mechanic who can do work for you
he did an engine swap for me

he normally charges about $80 an hour i think

send us a pm if you want his number so you can get quotes off him

although if your changing mechanics you can probably find one just as cheap around the sydney area lol

No you can just repalce the head gasket. There will be no need to replace the seals again.

EDIT: However for the 20 or 30 bucks I would defintily change the rocker cover gasket as well.

Ok got car back, went to 2 mechanics, 1 says it can be the head leaking, but might be the seals they replaced are still leaking, due to unproperly fit or broken somethin while fitting it.
2nd place i went to is my mates mechanic, he said no way it can be head leaking, head leaks water not oil, he said the chance of head leaking is once in a million, an then we open the timing belt cover an the cover after it, the timing belt was changed an front seals looks fine, but the rear seals can see oil, fresh oil, so its a high change that they didnt replace the rear seals properly?
then i called pulse racing told them i see leak at the rear, his like so shocked, sayin he checked yesterday and see no leak, he said theres oil cause it can be the head gasket leak their way to the rear seals.
so, im going to go pulse racing asap when im free, and watch them take the cover off an prove to me theres no leak or something.

And btw, my mates mechanic is charging me 150$ to replace my front rocker cover gasket seals, cause there is a minor leak at the front, thats a good price?
