Cigarette Lighter
Hey guys
Ok my cigarette ligther is giving me grief!
It doesn't work, however sometimes when I push down on my GPS charging cord then it picks up some power, but the moment i release it, it loses its connection. However I haven't been even able to get that little bit of power lately either.
I'm guessing maybe loose wires (very possible given that sometimes my air con lights need a little smack to turn on) or a semi busted cig lighter. Anyone got any ideas? Is it possible to replace the lighter cheaply? (Or replace it with a USB?) Is there anywhere in particluar it might be loose.
Or is there another way that I can get power to my extras?
P.S. It's not a blown fuse, I've checked it twice and even tried swapping them over.

Re: Cigarette Lighter
Takes 2 plugs on the back of the lighter. Stereo Surround out and test that the wires are hooked up and if they are, if you have power running to the plug when key on.

thanks mate, I will pull it apart tonight and have a look, however, what if I find that they are attaching properly, where else could the power be loose?

fuse
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Hey mate, already checked that (twice), its not a fuse because sometimes I will get power. (plus the fuse under the dash is in perfect condition)I8A4RE wrote:fuse
Edit:
Unless you mean the wiring could be loose around the fuse... that'd be a pain in the ass.. how can I test that?

Re: Cigarette Lighter
You can put a multimetre on either side of the fuse holder with the fuse out to make sure you are getting current. I think you may be able to do it with the fuse in as well. From memory there are a couple of metal plates on top of the fuse. If you get current, you have power to the fuse at least.
