I'm in the exact same spot.
Had the problem for a year.
I cancelled out engine pulleys as it doesn't do it unless driving.
I had the steering rack checked, wheels replaced, tyres replaced, wheel bearings replaced, pads replaced, rotors replaced, cvs rebuilt.
And STILL that F'ing sound is there.
sh*ts me as I don't drive the car for the same reason. Don't want *Big ba the boom*.
My last 2 lines of thought were power steering pump *kinda doubt*
or diff.
And joy, we have a 5spd tip. :rolls:
Kinda weird the sounds on the drivers side... gearbox is on the passenger..............

Re: grinding noise from front right. What is it?
well... i think mine is on the engine side as opposed to on the wheel end... as it only does it at about 2300-2400RPM when in gear, I dont think it does it in N, and i havent been brave enough in reverse to get up to those RPMs yet lol. and since it's coming from the driver side, so it cant be the auto box....
so if it only does it under load at one specific RPM range.... what are the chances of it just being a harmonic noise and nothing to worry about and nothing can be done?

actually.... this may be a stupid question... but... are any extra pulleys or belts engaged at about 2300RPM and/or when in gear?

nah they all run all the time just depends on the load they have on them, eg if a/c on or steering wheels on spot or when revving, i'd still be looking over pullys

Ill take a look at the diy day mate.
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Re: grinding noise from front right. What is it?
Is it doing it at certain angles when you turn or just on the straight?
My front left hub behind the brake disc has warped and scrapes off the disc when i turn right a certain speeds.
I need to get that sorted out...
