How many KMs have you been traveled?

Post by kw946 »

My one has almost 230,000. Just want to know average life time or the reasons to death in final.

First of all, Welcome to the Club.

My car has done 160k on the chassis and around 120k on engine (has been swapped) .. But in saying how long it will last till death will depend on how it has been driven, how it has been serviced, how often... etc etc.

153000.Not too sure but they will probably start to use a lot of oil and blow smoke at around 280k-300k mark and have low compression.

My one has done about 147000km, and it seems like its going well (and if its anything like the 94 lancer engine, you'l be good for up to about 300000ish.. my lancer is only starting to die now..)

205,000 needs a good major service and it should be smooth again.

Any idea for rebuild engine? I found a little oil side of the enginea(I guess that's could be bad news), but driving is alright never off road when I traveled between Perth and Norseman. (3-times return in a month, normally).Should I go RPW for some advice? Any one have been there before?

    135,000 on everything but engine
original engine had done about 130,000 kms and blew up because i dropped a washer down the intake manifold (f**k you to anyone who laughs) and started it
engine was in pretty shocking condition though, last owner didnt take very good care of it so wasnt that horrible (engine had oil leaks everywhere

and now i have a new engine thats done about 50,000

i found my last engine would backfire a bit at around 7-8000revs and also had a fair bit of power loss

so im guessing that if you cant feel there is something wrong with your engine that it isnt going to die soon

124,000kms and currently has 2 oil leaks in separate locations. Getting rebuilt in 1 week though! :)

Guess it depends on how it has been driven/maintained, as has already been said...

Why start your engine if you know something was in the engine! I had back luck similar to yours ages ago as well! I was walking past the front of the car while shoving a drill bit into the drill. It slid out and went under the inlet manifold and dropped into the timing case! Didn't start my engine but gave me and excuse to change the timing belt!
