Is the other FTO a member here?
okay just watched this

i thought most people who raced there cars at tracks had good cars?

half of the people in that video had sh*t cars
whats the point of having racing a car that you can already do its top speed on public roads without breaking the speed limit?

or would most of them be extremely moded?

Not at all, people race all manner of sh*t boxes. Why? I spose it's because they can!
Not only can you flog the crap out of your car, you can do it legally & knowing that when
you pull 2 g's out of a hairpin sideways, you aint gonna have a head on with a Semi!
Most people know how to flog their cars without having to go on a track, but once you've
been on a rtack, I garauntee you'll now how to flog it harder. At the end of the day, you'll
know you cars most extreme limits, of both traction & power.

Its funny, I was once down at Oran Park & this wog guy rolls in with brand spanking new Ferrari 360 Modena.
First corner at the end of the straight, going far to fast went straight off & into the armco. $75k worth of damage

I reckon its because people who spend a fortune on hot cars, can't afford to racing after that!
I know everytime I go down, it costs me on average $500. Not so much straight out of the pocket cash,
but after the $110 for track access, then the $100 you'll spend on fuel, there's all the item you 'wear.'
For example you'll use up $100 worth on brake pads & oil, the $200 odd bucks worth of rubbers you'll
rip of all your tyres etc etc etc.

thats one thing i just never understand

if someone spent $500 racing a $3k car isnt it a waste?
they could have saved that for a couple more weeks and raced a $4k car the next time?

i think that any car thats less powered than an fto i wouldnt really have any fun racing it on a track
it would just be to slow

its like when people buy $2k rims for $2k car
why not just buy a $4k car?

thats all just my opinion though and i suppose each person has there own

Well you can go faster in a slower car if you know how to drive on the track.
High power dosnt always mean you will go faster around a race track.

I somewhat agree and disagree, It depends on the competion. Lets say for example, if your driving a yaris in a field of porsche's, IMO, it not going to be fun day out at all. But if your still in a yaris and racing in a field of yaris's it would be fun as hell.

I dont like racing if I can't be competitive but thats just my opinion. I think I had this arguement with someone one day so i will now **DON FLAMESUIT**

Mind you, ther nothing more infuriating that watching an old shitbox whistle past you on the straight. You then spend the rest of the day trying to find his pit, only to discover he has a fully worked SR20 with a whopping Garret T88 hangin' off it, pumping in 40 pound of boost

I agree with you simon, anything can be fun provided its competitive. Just look at how fun go-karts are.
