I don't understand how Charisma was being a douche bag. He was simply giving his opinion on Evos...

Chill out, Nighthawk.

The Evo isn't a $25 000 car either...

More like $80k by the time it's on the road with a few optional extras...

Bought an FTO because it looks sexy and doesn't cost the earth to run and service like some other coupes.

If i wanted a four door sporty car, id probably buy a WRX STi (for some reason i love the blue with gold alloys look - its fairly shameful)

If i could afford it at some point i my life, i will buy a GTR. My opinion they are the best car ever.

heres one. brought an fto because i gotta focus on my morgatage otherwise i would have brought (if money and the need for a car that can fit a car seat in it legally didnt prohibit my choice)

2 door open top: BMW z3/z4 or porsche boxter (nothing better than open top driving especially with powerfull little roadsters)

2 door: nissan 350z

4 door: probably a late model evo

unlimited funds= mclaren f1! screw the enzo's the f1 would kick arse, sitting right in the middle of the car in 1 of the fastest cars in the world that weighs heaps less than the ferrari's i think

Wow, Everyone seems to be quite feisty lately, not just this thread but heaps of others, everyone seems to bitching at each other, it's not cool to bitch like women boys, keep your pants on.

FTO's are great, and I wouldn't say a roomy interior is a con, (not that the FTO's are small or anything, they're more than comfortable) I love going on loooong road trips with my friends, and trust me little cars become very tiring very quickly. I went down the Great Ocean Road in a friends convertible and by the the time I got there I was sooooooo sore!!! However I am not ragging on small cars because they're excellent! I have driven Brenton's FTO before and I love the handling! It zips into places where big cars wouldn't usually go, and the handling, plus it turn's lots of heads. I showed a asian friend at uni a few FTO's on Google images and she was pretty much salivating on the keyboard, and I've had people comment that they thought it was a Ferrari or Porsche, and before anyone say's anything it was me that made those comparrisons

I understand what was said on page one about getting bogged at uni. My BMW got stuck a few weeks ago, as did the little Lancer & Celica parked next to me, so much for parking on the grass because there is no car parks left, however we were quite lucky that a very nice guy driving a ute was able to pull us out, I suppose he probably felt sorry for 3 girls with slightly sunken cars standing around like idiots in the pouring rain, Damn Melbourne weather for you.

I've been looking at FTO's but they're all killed, I haven't found a nice clean example in Victoria or the lower half of NSW, or Victorian side of S.A. However I did come across a nice white GPvR although when I went and looked at it, there was things about it that turned me off, it doesn't seem as if people take care of them.

My Top 3 cars would be:
FTO- because they're fast, they're sexy, and screw the lack of internal room its a sports car people! if u want to cart your family of mum, dad 2.5 kids and a dog go buy a commodore (though they more then comfortably fit driver and passanger), the boot will fit my sub and prob a small person hehe, and I can fit 1-3 friends in the car. I'm happy.
Lancer Evo- Bit more room, not a huge fan of turbo's, and the cops would defect me in a week. Damn green P's
Supra- They are sexy as well. Not a big fan of RWD anymore. I'd rather a FWD. I don't do feel the desire to ruin my tyres, and for the power you loose through the tail-shaft totally not worth a RWD.

ive driven to the otherside of melb with a passanger and back (5 and a half hours driving with 2 hours of stops) and it was very comfortable. bolstered seats, full climate control excelent seat positioning options, sunroof (less claustrophobic) all make this a great road trip car if u have two people. if u wanted 4 people might b a little crammed but ive had small people in the back and as long as trheres a small person in the passanger seat they think its fine

imo evos are sh*t

i cannot see any appeal in them at all
except for maybe if you were just off your p's

to drive a car like that you have to be under 25 otherwise you look like a tosser
and i dont know any people who have that much money to spend on a car at that age

+1 .. I don't love the way it looks, but I can at least appreciate the technical aspects of the car - still baffled why Mitsubishi would put all that engineering into a 4 door family car & not put it all under the shell of a car like the Eclipse / FTO :(

its not a 4 door family car though a person who has a family wouldnt drive one unless they are like 20

its like the fto and a skyline

the fto has a bit of grace and elegance with it

while the skyline is a boxy piece of sh*t

but i suppose as aza said
each to there own

i no some one who owns a evo 3 looks alright
honestly when it comes down to it you can have a ugly powerfull soap box with plenty of room for your mates and sh*t load of boot space or you can go a 2 door that has boot space no back seat
but when it comes down to it them ugly soap boxes have more power to start with and have add on mods left right and centre
some people like power more then looks hell can you see your car while your driving
ive seen cars in car mags that you would swear the cars a rust bucket but theres 50k under the hood
then theres cars that spend 50k on there car you look under the hood and its stock

i can understand that though

if you were using a car as a daily driver and were going to spend 50k making it stand out, then you would leave the engine stock or close to it to avoid any possible defects

same with the other way as well

if you had a car that had an engine that could be defected for some reason you wouldnt have an exterior that makes cops spot you easily

thats one of the things that pisses me off about driving sims, movies etc

if someone was a professional street racer (if they do actually exist) they would have a car that blends in

most of the driving sims dont allow much exterior customisation (forza, gran turismo etc) mainly just power mods.
games like need for speed and juiced and movies like fast and furious have cars that looks awesome and go hard but i guess thats the culture and there obiously is pro street racers they just probably dont last long if they go hard enough at it.

i would imagine most of the people in mags like hot 4's are mainly for show though and maybe take the cars to the track if they can afford $80,000+ to spend on their cars
