What three pipes you talking about? I thought you mean the exhaust manifold.

Re: Oil leak from where?
sorri for being noob, but how do they remove the sump and add the gasket+seals? like just lift the car up an do it from underneath or have to lift the engine up etc etc?
cause my mechanic said he never did an fto engine like that (when he said he needs to rip out the top/bottom of the engine) and will cost pricy for labour, do any of u guys in syd have a good mechanic (thats up to date) know about fto? an cost would be around?

Re: Oil leak from where?
well i wouldnt go to him.
relatively easy job just remove/seal/replace no need to remove heads or any internals for that matter

Re: Oil leak from where?
Lol no there prices are good not over priced at all, and they only do what is needed to be done.
They won't tell you that the engine needs to be ripped apart if there is no need for it.

Re: Oil leak from where?
listen to aza mate .. he won't lead you astray
like he said, don't go back to that mechanic - anyone who starts talking about pulling apart the bottom end to fix an oil leak without even looking at it first is just dodgy IMO
you may not even need to take the sump apart & re-gasket-goo it.. could just be that the washer on the sump plug bolt hasn't been replaced the last time you had an oil change, or you could just take a stanley knife & cut away the excess old-goo, give it a degrease & re-apply gasket-goo externally
