Ok Edward!

j/k, each to their own, I just take exception to people that blatantly mislead others about the venerable 4 speed tips because they really are a great and reliable unit. Granted my one has done ~85 k's.

Perhaps we can agree to disagree then, the 4 speed tips are great if maintained or aren't high k units. When I say 'maintained' I actually mean full pan off services, not just the 'trans flush that misses half of the fluid' jobs :)
80000kms??? No sh*t mine was still going then as well. It happened at 100000kms roughly then again at 160000kms. Yep the original place I went to was dodgy as I had a mate do the second rebuild. He called me the following day and ask if I had been doing roll backs. He said he has never seen a torque converter so screwed up! He told me he can't give me a warranty if I went through with the rebuild. After he spoke to the dude that does torque converters they told him it always happens to the FTO converters as they are weak. He calls me back and told me he will go ahead with rebuild and give me the warranty as he knew it was not me.

So far this rebuild it going better than the last one and I just past 200000kms.

Maybe my FTO is just more powerful as I beat a FPV F6 the other day with 300RWKW to 60km/h and he was only 1/4 of a car length in front of me at 120km/h.

Nah just normal looking and at the next set of lights he said "damn your car is quick" and I said "I did not even rev it out" and then he said "I had the perfect launch on my semi slicks and my car is 300RWKW" and then I said "maybe I am a better driver than you and my car is light so no matter how powerful your car is I will beat you to 60km/h and also I have a Porsche 4 speed tiptronic". Then he said "I thought my 6 speed ZF box was meant to be good" and he said "Nah my 4 speed is much better than his even when its 15 year old car and Ford should have got a 4 speed designed by Porsche as well". Now he is interested in driving an FTO.
