hey im just curious because i drive a manual and rarely drive a car with tiptronic in it
what exactly are the benefits of putting your car into tiptronic?
when you put your foot down doesnt the transmission of most cars already shift down gears to give you power?
are there any major performance gains from driving the car in tip mode?
where would these gains be seen? on a drag strip or on a full race course?
tiptronic

Re: tiptronic
In tiptronic mode, it won't shift down when you floor it. you select the gears. You can hold it in each gear and it won't change until you tell it to. The only time it changes gear for you is when you slow down. Best part is when in Sydney traffic, you don't have to worry about working the clutch, the worst thing is getting off the line quickly and not been able to do burn outs very easily, once you get to about 3k revs off the line, its just as fast as a manual.
