ive already got winter gloves and riding pants from my cousin
bought me a helmet today aswell, tried on a million today and settled for the most comfiest helmet (still tight)
tried on a few jackets, will go tomorow after work again with the advice youve all given.
ive got allot of boots that are sufficient enough for riding, i used my high cut nikes for the learners practical and asked my teacher if they were okay. they are heavily protective of the ankle already. these will do for a few weeks
what do you guys use in the rain?

f**k!! Had a long reply and lost it.. So lets try again..
I have a dririder jacket.. Has a lining that you can take out... Have had it for years.. Great jacket.. I ride in the rain all the time to work and it does a great job in keeping u dry...
My Alpine leather jacket also has this, but is not as waterproof.. I have worn it in the rain, with the lining, but in heavy rain you can feel the jacket getting heavier.. And with the lining in the leather jacket, it doesn't breath much.. So the lining lives under my seat..
I also have dririder pants.. But they don't have a lining to take out.. So you can really sweat up a treat in them.. Which sucks.. I wish they zipped in to dririder jacket though...
I also have Alpine leather pants.. But, the are vented around the balls.. So, it can be pretty bloody cold.. The leather pants also zip into the jacket.. Don't ever buy a 1 piece.. They are a pain...
i also have the Alpine gloves.. Which I wear in winter and summer.. Never felt the need for winter gloves......... This is even when I am riding through the back of Heathcoat at 1am when the temp is single digits...
I also don't see what is wrong with race boots...

race boots IMO are very uncomfy to walk around uni for me. SO I only ever wear my Falcos.
My Berik 2 piece suit I normally wear the jacket whole year. It doesnt have a lining but is real thick with venting around the in elbow area which does get wet. Same as the crotch area on the pants. SO for rain I have an Rjays plastic suit. I wear that over my leather jacket and whatever pants I have on, tuck them over my Falco, chuck on the winter gloves and tuck the suit over them, don the neck sock and off I go. 99% waterproof.
ALso have Dririder Nordic pants with the removable liner. Gosh they are hot even in WInter...

bought a set of alpine gloves with the carbon knucles today and bought me an Ixon jacket. i tried the alpine jackets (same price range) and they were more comfty but has less protection around the shoulders, forearms and elbows.
alpine gloves sh*t all over my 60buck generics. comfty and way more protective
the kevlar draggin jeans look good aswell... may buy some soon

With the new goodies installed;
Jardine RT1 race core
Some Hong Kong fender eliminator
Smoked Integrated tailight

Man the new exhaust is loud. Rode into the city after the install and ears were almost bleeding. Took me a good 5 hours installing these bastards.
Does anyone know how to install LED blinkers btw?

Re: My new Honda!
Just got back from a peats ridge - wisemans run on the bike. It was my last hoorah before the suspension begins on tuesday...
Heres some pics.

This is before I set off. Pic shows the smoked windscreen fitted with new red bolts, (one doesnt fit argh!) and the smoked flushmount indicators

Love the back view!

At the side of wiseman's ferry rd just before all those sh*tty bridges start.

Re: My new Honda!
Hmm... I am thinking the Mrs is going to have to take those keys.. I am hoping you are not going to be tempted.. There is always room in the garage with the Evo, FTO, and GSXR...
Bike is looking hot though..

Re: My new Honda!
Preparations are already under way for storage. Just got the bike cover out...*sigh*
On a more cheerful note however I had a look at how the suspension end date coincides with my uni timetable and I get to ride again one week before semester two starts! yayayy!. So its only 7 weeks more of semester 1 I will be driving and then the 5 week semester break...
It doesnt seem too long

Re: My new Honda!
Sorry i know the argument was a month ago... but no one mentioned the zzr250. GPZ250 are old looking, even when their new, cbr250 are too small (made for smerfs). Ninja's are good if you can afford them but they seem to be the commenwhore of the bike world... this is not nessacceraly a bad thing, but exclusiveness is one of the things i like about the fto
I got a zzr and she goes great and is very comfortable being one of the bigger 250's. Btw im 6'2 and about 90kg's.
As for gear, MUST WEAR GLOVES, no matter how hot it gets - people seem to neglect this. Ive got 2 sets (summer/winter) both rjays.
As for crashing - its not if you crash, but when. And i think a lot of the time we make our own fate. But, definity +1 on bad sydney drivers. I ride to the city pretty often and some people just dont look and i hate it when they dont indicate. Ive have a few near misses with people just swinging in front of me.
Btw zzr might be coming up for sale soon-ish

Re: My new Honda!
yeh i got the 06 gpx250 (ex250)
there was no way in hell i would of bought brand new or even over 5500 just for a learner bike because i know i will drop it whilst in ownership.
heck, i dropped it within 2 hours of posession
gloves - i always use gloves now, dont feel safe without them seeing as i need my fingers. BUT i rode for a couple of weeks without when they were brand new, they felt stiff and i was having a hard time with the clutch using them. now they are worn in and i bring them everywhere

Re: My new Honda!
Well it's not as bad as I was thinking it would be.
good luck with the fix up, I hope it won't cost a lot to fix up.
