would it be possible to convert a fto to rear wheel drive or would it be point less and to costly

IMO it would be too expensive

The FTO already has a decent enough cavity that could be used as a transmission tunnel, its the firewall that would cause issues with space trying to fit in an AWD gearbox (which you would need as there is no way to fit a traditional FR gearbox to an FTO engine.

Would be really expensive. Possible? Sure. But no-one has completed one yet.

Do it, it's a heaps cheap mod and really pretty simple can almost be fully DIY. Then when you're done with that, maybe practice using the search function.

I think the best argument against a fto to rear wheel drive convert is the cost vs what you can buy for the same money. like the Maserati 3200 GT a twin turbo 3.2L V8 That revs to 7000rpm and get this intrior <a href="http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f303/ ... at the moment this is the cheapest ($65.000) I know of but I've seen them for $45.000 before when its time to let go of the fto I'm planning to get one of these or a jaguar xkr http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/res ... ome&Nne=15
