cranking sound

hey guys I've been getting a cranking sound on start up like the sound if u try and turn a already on car basicly started after I had the tappets and timeing belt and every thing else you can think of replaced could this be a belt needs reajusting or is there some thing wrong its fine when its warm its just first starts that's why im thinking lose belt

most likely starter getting sluggish or battery almost gone. If was belts you would hear it all the time

Mine started making this noise as my Alternator began to die.

The mechanic said the noise is due to a weak battery and maybe starter motor starting to die.

When i put a new alternator in, ill let you know if the noise persists.

well I have a blue top so its not the battery and my volts haven't droped at all my step dad sounds like its the starter motor disengaging to slow so looks like I may be buying a new one soon enough
