this is purely because of the desert races...

but merc n bmw dont have money to be pouring into starting up a new motorsport genre..

if anything

bmw would join

toyota, and merc wont
would put my left nut on it

edit:having fully read the article now there might be some random 'hybrid' cars, ie merc engines in a X chassis
